Its unique memory foam records all your dreams and replays them back the next day.  Probably.

Betting on Diversity on Britain's Got Talent at 16/1?  £170 return?  Oh, suits you sir!  The Milky Bars are on me!

    gadget show

Dezz and I went to the Gadget Show Live at the NEC on Friday.  It was rubbish, especially the competitions in the theatre that expected you to use your mobile for entry.  Might have stood a chance if I had a signal (thanks O2) and a non laggy Windows Mobile phone.  Afterwards we went and got extremely drunk in Solihull.  Pics are here.

    Ode to pillow...

Thanks to my lovely job I've only had 3 hours sleep tonight.  Trying to configure Sendmail in a sleeping house with two cats perambulating the keyboard isn't easy.  Looking forward to when my normal business day starts. Sleepy

    credit crunched

This little video explains where all the money's gone, for people of short attention spans like myself!  Get yourself a cup of tea, as it goes on for about 10 mins.

    fizzy gravy

This place gives you the shits.  I blame the rice as it didn't taste quite right and is known for breeding bacteria.  They forgot to put any cashews in the Chicken With Cashew Nuts too.  My stomach hurts. Angry

    he walks!

William took his first steps unsupported today!  Okay so he resembles me after I've had a few pints but he's only 16 months old.

    home cinema, done

Finally the lounge is back to normal.  The carpet's laid, the cable chasing's all sanded and painted, and most importantly, the home cinema kit sounds the mutt's. Hot

    home cinema stage two

A week off work to get the old floor up, chase in the speaker wires and mount them on the wall, and get it all ready for the carpet laying on Thursday.  Thankfully Pollyfilla’s filler didn’t do a Wickes special on me and stayed where it was told.  My new Denon AVR-1909 amp arrived today too, so all that’s waiting is the sub woofer.

    home cinema stage one

First things first, getting the telly mounted on the wall.  Drilling the holes with a 12mm bit and installing 6 x M6 Rigifix bolts was the easy bit.  What took the rest of the day was chasing the cable drop, a trip to Wickes for some conduit, and then another trip to Focus for some fatter conduit.  I would have done some more filling if it wasn’t for the useless Wickes multipurpose filler.  Fast drying it says.  It’s been over 24 hours now and it’s still soft to the touch.  Never again will I buy their own brand for decorating products, as their paint is shite too.  Lesson learnt.

More pics to come if the filler ever dries.

    the kefs have landed

Hurrah, today I took receipt of the beginning of my new home cinema setup, 4 KEF HTS3001SE satellites, and 1 HTC3001SE centre speaker, with a bargain £120 reduction from wirefreehomes.co.uk.  Next is the sub, currently being handmade, and finally the Sony amp, although no feckers have that in stock. :(  These speakers aren't sounding that good still stuck in their boxes behind me.

    yet another blogging site

Time to ditch the blog at thisisjpa.co.uk and use a free service me thinks.  £50 a year for a pointless domain name?  Stuff that.
